Common questions

Can foreign couples get married in Italy?

Yes. Couples from the United Kingdom, the United States and elsewhere marry in Italy every year. Many complete the legal paperwork in a registry office at home a few weeks before, and hold the ceremony that matters to them in Italy, which takes the documents out of the planning entirely.

Can you have a multicultural wedding in Italy?

Yes. A Western ceremony and reception can carry the food, music and rituals of another tradition without either one feeling like an addition. Most of that work sits in the guest experience, so that both families recognise the day as their own.

How far ahead should you start planning a wedding in Italy?

Twelve to eighteen months for a multi day wedding abroad. Not because venues sell out, but because of the number of decisions involved: venue, ceremony, vendors, transport, paperwork and the running order of several days.
